Repentance
Seek the Truth with all your heart.
Repentance is a decision to turn your present life around, turning to GOD’s truth; and away from the wrong direction - involvements - behaviour - in various aspects of life - and ways of living. Repentance follows confession to GOD of your errors; and your willing agreement to turn from that old life to a new life in Christ.
Repentance is turning around, changing direction 180 degrees, and going in the other direction and living the other way.
When you have repented, ask GOD for HIS help, through the Holy Spirit, to give you the strength and conviction to live in HIS ways.
Matthew 7:13-14 ‘Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.’
John 10:9 "I am the gate; whoever enters through Me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture."
2 Corinthians 7:10 ‘GOD-ly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death.’
When Adam was confronted with his sin, he hid in the bushes. When David was confronted with his, he said, “I’m guilty before GOD.” Follow David’s example.
Confess and repent. Admit your errors to GOD, and assure HIM that you will change.
Isaiah 43:18 ‘Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.’
Galatians 6:7 ‘Do not be deceived; GOD cannot be mocked. A person reaps what they sow.’
James 4:4-10 ‘You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship with the world means enmity against GOD? Therefore anyone who chooses to be a friend f the world becomes an enemy of GOD. Or do you think scripture says without reason that HE jealously longs for the Spirit HE has caused to dwell in us? But HE gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: “GOD opposes the proud but shows favour to the humble.” Submit yourselves, then, to GOD. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to GOD and HE will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double minded. Grieve, mourn, and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves before the LORD and HE will lift you up.’
GOD loves repentance and honesty.
