GOD’s Hand & Leading

Seek the Truth with all your heart.

Born Again Christians are entitled to pray for GOD’s hand to be over a situation.

When the hand of GOD was on Pharaoh, it brought judgement.  When His hand was on His people, it brought not only blessing, but overflow.

Genesis 12:1  HE told Abraham when to leave home.

Genesis 31:3  HE told Jacob when to go back home

1 Kings 17:1-5  HE told Elijah where to find food in the middle of a famine.

On two different occasions HE stopped Paul from walking through what appeared to be a door of opportunity; because HE had something better in mind for him.

Psalm 25:8-10  ‘Good and upright is the LORD; therefore HE instructs sinners in HIS ways.  HE guides the humble in what is right and teaches them HIS way.  All the ways of the LORD are loving and faithful for those who keep the demands of HIS covenant.’

Psalm 48:14  ‘For this GOD is our GOD for ever and ever; HE will be our guide even to the end,’

Psalm 139:7-10  ‘Where can I go from YOUR Spirit? Where can I flee from YOUR presence? If I go up to the heavens, YOU are there; if I make my bed in the depths, YOU are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there YOUR hand will guide me, YOUR  right hand will hold me fast.’

Isaiah 41:13  ‘For I am the LORD your GOD WHO takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.’

Isaiah 42:16  ‘I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them;  I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth.  These are the things I will do; I will not forsake them.’

Exodus 3:19  ‘But I know that the king of Egypt will not let you go unless a mighty hand (the hand of GOD) compels him.’

Exodus 13:3  “Moses said to the people, “Commemorate this day, the day you came out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery, because the LORD brought you out of it with a mighty hand.”

GOD attributed Israel’s deliverance out of bondage to the hand of the LORD, and they were to remember that.  Every time GOD mentions Israel’s deliverance, HE reminds them that it was the hand of the Lord that accomplished it, and that it was important that their children and their children’s children knew that it happened by the hand of GOD.

When Moses faced an impossible situation:

Numbers 11:23  ‘The LORD answered Moses:  “Is the LORD’S arm too short.?  You will now see whether or not what I say will come true for you.”

GOD wanted Moses to remember that nothing is impossible when the hand of the LORD is involved.

Deuteronomy 32:10-14  ‘In a desert land HE (GOD) found him (Jacob), in a barren and howling waste.  HE shielded him and cared for HIM; HE guarded him as the apple of HIS eye, like an eagle that stirs up its nest and hovers over its young, that spreads its wings to catch them and carries them on its pinions. The LORD alone led him; no foreign god was with him.  HE made him ride on the heights of the land and fed him with the fruit of the fields.  HE nourished him with honey from the rock, and with oil from the flinty crag, with curds and milk from herds and flock and with fattened lambs and goats, and with choice rams of Bashan and the finest kernels of wheat.  You drank the foaming blood of the grape.’

There are many other examples of the hand of the Lord expressing GOD’S power in judgement against the enemies of Israel.  Joshua, Samuel, and David all saw the hand of GOD against their adversaries.

Psalm 78:42 “They remembered not HIS hand, nor the day when HE delivered them from the enemy.”

One of the ways Israel limited GOD in their lives was that they forgot the power of the evident involvement of the hand of the Lord.

Proverbs 19:21  ‘Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails.’

Proverbs 21:2-3  ‘A person may think their own ways are right, but the LORD weighs the heart. To do what is right and just is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice.’

Isaiah 45:11  (New King James Version expresses it as follows:)  ‘Thus says the LORD, The HOLY ONE of Israel, and its Maker: “Ask ME of things to come concerning MY children; And concerning the work of MY hands, you command Me.” In keeping with HIS will.

Acts 4:30  ‘Stretch your hand to heal and perform miraculous signs and wonders through the name of your holy servant Jesus.’

Acts 11:21  ‘The Lord’s hand was with them, and a great number of people believed and turned to the LORD.’

John15:5  ‘I am the vine you are the branches.  If a person remains in Me and I in them, they will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.’

GOD does not necessarily call those who are qualified; HE qualifies those who are called.

2 Corinthians 1:21-22  ‘Now it is GOD WHO makes both us and you stand firm in Christ.  HE appointed us, set HIS seal of ownership on us, and put HIS spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.’
