GOD’s Promises & Provision

Seek the Truth with all your heart.

GOD is a GOD of unlimited abundance.

The knowledge, belief, faith in, and expectation, of GOD’s promise, through Jesus, of heaven and eternal life, adds infinite dimension to this life, and therefore our relativities and values of everything are changed forever.

GOD’s promises and blessings cover every aspect of life: salvation, deliverance, victory, healing, long life, and every other good thing.

The promises of GOD are a guaranteed foundation for our hope and faith.  Earthly-worldly hope is based on what might be, but GOD-ly hope is based on what we can be sure of.  GOD’s promises are a guaranteed certainty.

In order to receive what GOD has promised in HIS word we need to do three things:

1.  Make up your mind to take hold of HIS promises and to not let go – be tenacious – GOD responds to a persevering faith and mind-set:

Matthew 19:26  ‘Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with GOD all things are possible.”

Mark 11:22-23  ‘”Have faith in GOD,” Jesus answered. “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.”

2.  Visualise your victory.

Genesis 15:5-6  ‘HE (GOD) took him (Abraham) outside and said, “Look up at the sky and count the stars – if indeed you can count them.” Then HE said to him, “So shall your offspring be.” Abram believed the LORD, and HE credited it to him as righteousness.’ Use your memory to see past victories, and your imagination to foresee future victories. Look your victorious expectation in the face and declare it as yours.

3.  Speak to your situation – belief must be spoken into being. Don’t just talk about it – talk to it - to line up with GOD’s word. Make GOD’s word your word and it will become your servant – Jesus said so!’

Psalm 55:22  ‘Cast your cares on the LORD and HE will sustain you; HE will never let the righteous be shaken.’

Mark 9:23  ‘Jesus said “If you believe, everything is possible.”

2 Corinthians 5:7  ‘For we live by faith, not by sight.’

When you have become born again (born spiritually) and continue to walk with Jesus and GOD. You become HIS for all time and beyond time into eternity.  No power can deny you your inheritance to heaven.  GOD wants you to know that you are utterly secure.  If you falter as you journey through life HE will never let go of your hand.

Retain a deep level of belief, faithfulness, and trust.

Genesis 26:3  ‘Stay in this land for a while, and I will be with you and will bless you.  For to you and your descendants I will give all these lands and will confirm the oath I swore to your father Abraham.

Exodus 6:6-8  GOD makes the following promises to the Israelites:  ‘Therefore, say to the Israelites: “I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians, I will free you from being slaves to them, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with mighty acts of judgement.

I will take you as MY OWN people, and I will be your GOD.  Then you will know that I am the LORD your GOD, WHO brought you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians.  And I will bring you to the land I swore with uplifted hand to give to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.  I will give it to you as a possession.  I am the LORD.”

Exodus 33:14  ‘The LORD replied, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”

Deuteronomy 6:10-17  ‘When the LORD you GOD brings you into the land HE swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give you – a land with large, flourishing cities you did not build, houses filled with all kinds of good things you did not provide, wells you did not dig, and vineyards and olive groves you did not plant – then when you eat and are satisfied, be careful that you do not forget the LORD, WHO brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.

Fear the LORD your GOD, serve HIM only and take your oaths in HIS NAME.  Do not follow other ‘gods,’ the ‘gods’ of the peoples around you; for the LORD your GOD, WHO is among you, is a jealous GOD and HIS anger will burn against you, and HE will destroy you from the face of the land.  Do not put the LORD your GOD to the test as you did at Massah.  Be sure to keep the commands of the LORD your GOD and the stipulations and decrees HE has given you.’

Deuteronomy 30:15-16  ‘See I set before you today life and prosperity, death and destruction.  For I command you today to love the LORD your GOD, to walk in HIS ways, and to keep HIS commands, decrees and laws; then you will live and increase, and the LORD your GOD will bless you in the land you are entering to possess.’

Deuteronomy 31:8  ‘The LORD HIMSELF goes before you and will be with you; HE will never leave you nor forsake you.  Do not be afraid, do not be discouraged.’

Joshua 24:13-14  “So I gave you a land on which you did not toil and cities you did not build; and you live in them and eat from vineyards and olive groves that you did not plant.     Now fear the LORD and serve HIM with all faithfulness.  Throw away the ‘gods’ your ancestors worshipped beyond the Euphrates River and in Egypt, and serve the LORD.”

Psalm 37:3-5  ‘Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.’  (safe pasture = feed on GOD’s faithfulness and provision.)

Psalm 84:11-12  ‘For the LORD GOD is a sun and shield; the LORD bestows favour and honour; no good thing does HE withhold from those whose walk is blameless.  LORD Almighty, blessed is the one who trusts in YOU.’

Psalm 145:13-14 & 17-21  ‘YOUR kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and YOUR dominion endures through all generations. The LORD is trustworthy in all HE promises and faithful in all HE does.

The LORD upholds all who fall and lifts up all who are bowed down.

The LORD is righteous in HIS ways and faithful in all HE does.

The LORD is near to all who call on HIM, to all who call on HIM in truth.

HE fulfils the desires of those who fear HIM, HE hears their cry and saves them.

The LORD watches over all who love HIM, but all the wicked HE will destroy.

My mouth will speak in praise of the LORD.  Let every creature praise HIS holy NAME for ever and ever.’

Isaiah 40:29-31  ‘HE gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.  Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength.  They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.’

Isaiah 41:10  “So do not fear, for I am with you, do not be dismayed, for I am your GOD.   I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with MY righteous right hand.”

Isaiah 54:10  “Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,” says the LORD, who has compassion on you.’

Isaiah 54:17  “No weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will rebuke every tongue that accuses you.  This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and this is their vindication from ME,” declares the LORD.’

Isaiah 55:11  ‘MY word that goes out from MY mouth; will not return to ME empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.’

Jeremiah 29:11  “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Malachi 3:6-7  “I the LORD do not change.  -----  Return to ME and I will return to you, says the LORD ALMIGHTY.’

Malachi 3:17  “They will be Mine” says the LORD Almighty, “in the day when I make up My treasured possession. I will spare them, just as in compassion a man spares his son who serves him.”

Luke 1:35-38  “The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High (GOD) will overshadow you. So the holy One to be born will be called the Son of GOD. Even Elizabeth (mother of John the Baptist) your relative is going to have a child in her old age, and she who was said to be unable to conceive, is in her sixth month.  For no word from GOD will ever fail.”

“I am the LORD’s servant,” Mary answered.  “May your word to me be fulfilled.”  Then the angel left her.’

Luke 12:22-31  “Then Jesus said to His disciples:  “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear.  For life is more than food, and the body more than clothes.  Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet GOD feeds them.  And how much more valuable you are than birds.  Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life?  Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?

Consider how the wild flowers grow.  They do not labour or spin.  Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendour was dressed like one of these.  If that is how GOD clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will HE clothe you; you of little faith.  And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it.  For the Pagan world runs after all such things, and your FATHER knows that you need them.  But seek HIS kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well.”

John 14:1-3  “Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in GOD; trust also in Me. In my FATHER’s house are many rooms (mansions); if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.”

John 3:16  ‘For GOD so loved the world that HE gave HIS one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.’

John 4:14  “Whoever drinks of the water that I shall give them will never thirst. But the water that I shall give them will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.”

John 6:35  “I am the bread of life: whoever comes to Me shall never hunger; and whoever believes in Me shall never thirst.”

John 6:51 & 54  “I am the living bread which came down from heaven.  If anyone eats of this bread, they will live forever: and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world.

“Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.”

John 8:28  And we know that in all things GOD works for the good of those who love HIM, who have been called according to HIS purpose.

John 14:1-3  ‘Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in GOD; trust also in Me. In My FATHER’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.’

John 14:15-24  ‘If you love Me, keep MY commands.  And I will ask the FATHER and HE will give you another Counsellor to be with you forever, the Spirit of truth (The Holy Spirit.)  The world cannot accept HIM, because it neither sees HIM nor knows HIM. But you know HIM, for HE lives with you and will be in you.  I will not leave you as orphans, I will come to you.  Before long, the world will not see Me anymore, but you will see Me.  Because I live, you also will live.  On that day you will realize that I am in My FATHER, and you are in Me, and I am in you.  Whoever has My commands and obeys them, they are the ones who love Me. Whoever loves Me will be loved by My FATHER, and I too will love them and show Myself to them.

Then Judas (not Judas Iscariot) said, “But Lord, why do You intend to show yourself to us and not to the world?

Jesus replied, “If anyone loves Me, they will obey My teaching.  My FATHER will love them, and WE will come to them and make our home with them.  Whoever does not love Me will not obey My teaching.  These words you hear are not My own, they belong to the FATHER who sent Me.”

John 15:4  Abide in Me and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can you, except you abide in Me.”

John 15:7  “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you shall ask what you will, and it shall be done to you.”

John 16:13  When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.

John 16:15  All that belongs to the FATHER is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will take from what is Mine and make it known to you.

Romans 4:16-17  ‘Therefore, the promise comes by faith, so that it may be by grace and may be guaranteed to all Abraham’s offspring; not only to those who are of the law but also to those who have the faith of Abraham.  He is the father of us all.  As it is written: “I have made you a father of many nations.”  He is our father in the sight of GOD, in whom he believed; the GOD WHO gives life to the dead and calls into being things that were not.’

Romans 5:17-19  ‘For if, by the trespass of the one man (Adam), death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive GOD’s abundant provision of grace and the gift of righteousness, reign in life through the One Man, Jesus Christ.

Consequently, just as one trespass resulted in condemnation for all people, so also one righteous act resulted in justification and life for all people.  For just as through the disobedience of the one man (Adam) the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the One Man (Jesus) the many will be made righteous.’

Romans 8:1-2  ‘Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.’

Romans 8:28-32  ‘And we know that in all things GOD works for the good of those who love HIM, who have been called according to HIS purpose,  For those GOD foreknew HE also predestined to be conformed to the image of HIS Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.  And those HE predestined, HE also called; those HE called, HE also justified, those HE justified, HE also glorified.

What, then, shall we say in response to these things?  If GOD is for us, who can be against us?  HE WHO did not spare HIS own Son, but gave Him up for us all; how will HE not also, along with Him graciously give us all things?’

Romans 15:13  ‘May the GOD of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in HIM, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.’

1 Corinthians 2:9-16  ‘However, as it is written:

“What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived;”  the things GOD has prepared for those who love HIM; these are the things GOD has revealed to us by HIS Spirit.

The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of GOD. For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them. In the same way no one knows the thoughts of GOD except the Spirit of GOD. What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit Who is from GOD, so that we may understand what GOD has freely given us.

This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual realities with Spirit taught words. The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of GOD, but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them, because they are discerned only through the Spirit.  The person with the Spirit makes judgements about all things, but such a person is not subject to merely human judgements, for, “Who has known the mind of the LORD so as to instruct Him?  But we have the mind of Christ.’

1 Corinthians 10:13  ‘No temptation has over taken you except what is common to mankind. And GOD is faithful HE will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, HE will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.’

2 Corinthians 1:20-22  For no matter how many promises GOD has made, they are “Yes” in Christ.  And so through Him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of GOD.  Now it is GOD WHO makes both us and you stand firm in Christ.  HE anointed us, set HIS seal of ownership  on us, and put HIS Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.’

2 Corinthians 16:16-19 & 7:1  ‘What agreement is there between the temple of GOD and idols?  For we are the temple of the living GOD.  As GOD has said:  “I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their GOD, and they will be MY people.  Therefore, Come out from them and be separate,” Says the LORD.  “Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you.”  And, “I will be a FATHER to you, and you will be MY sons and daughters,” says the LORD ALMIGHTY.

Therefore, since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for GOD.’

Philippians 4:19-20  ‘And my GOD will meet all your needs according to HIS glorious riches in Christ Jesus.  To our GOD and FATHER be glory for ever and ever.  Amen.’

2 Timothy 4:18  The Lord will rescue me from every evil attack and will bring me safely to His heavenly kingdom. To Him be glory for ever and ever.  Amen.

Galatians 3:16 & 29  ‘The promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed.  The scripture does not say ‘and to seeds,’ meaning many people, but ‘and to your seed,’ meaning one person, who is Christ.’

This is a magnificent thing that we have all those promises available to us through Jesus Christ; and relationship with and through Him is the only way.  ‘Now that faith has come, we are no longer under the supervision of the law.’  This does not mean that we are immune to the law, just that if we stumble in keeping it, we can confess and repent, without being condemned, however, even being under grace, we still need to respect it; otherwise we are disrespecting and abusing this wonderful GOD-given priviledge.

In the Old Testament GOD’s promises had conditions which had to be met, there was a price to be paid by having to do certain things.

All that changed at the cross, when Jesus said: “It is finished.”  The Greek text could be translated as:  ‘Paid in full. If you are a redeemed child of GOD, and are in Christ, then GOD says: “I’ll meet your needs, I’ll do what I have promised.”

Just as an account holder with a bank is eligible - qualified - to have a credit card; a believer in GOD is eligible - enabled or qualified - to receive GOD’s promises.  Under the Old Testament  (Old Covenant) it was a case of ‘IF.’  But to those in Christ under the New Testament - New Covenant - it is a case of ‘YES’ and ‘AMEN’ = So be it.

GOD does allow us the option to do some things which cause HIM to change His plans.

Hebrews 6:14  --- “I will surely bless you and give you many descendants.”

Hebrews 10:36-39  ‘You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of GOD, you will receive what HE has promised.  For, “In just a little while, He Who is coming will come and will not delay.”

And, “But my righteous one will live by faith.  And I take no pleasure in the one who shrinks back.”

But we do not belong to those who shrink back and are destroyed, but to those who have faith and are saved.’

Hebrews 13:5  ‘Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because GOD has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”

James 1:12  ‘Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love Him.’

2 Peter 3:9  ‘The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness.  He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.’

1 John 2:20  You have an anointing from the Holy One, and all of you know the truth.

1John 5:12  Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of GOD does not have life.  (Meaning eternal life.)

Revelation 3:11-13  ‘I am coming soon.  Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.  The one who is victorious I will make a pillar in the temple of My GOD.  Never again will they leave it.  I will write on them the name of My GOD, the new Jerusalem, which is coming down out of heaven from My GOD; and I will also write on them My new Name.  Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.’

Revelation 22:12-14  “And behold I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.” Blessed are those who do (keep) His Commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city.’
