Praise​​ -​​ Thanks​​ -​​ Gratefulness ​​​​ 

Seek the Truth with all your heart.

There is much​​ said in the Bible about praising​​ and thanking​​ GOD.

Fill up the spare moments in your life with praise and thanksgiving; such discipline will help you live in the intimacy of GOD’s presence.

A thankful attitude opens windows of heaven, and Spiritual blessings fall freely onto you through these openings into eternity. ​​ As your thoughts look up with a grateful heart you get glimpses of​​ GOD’s​​ Glory, and experience foretastes of your ultimate home in heaven. ​​ Your hope is then increased, which brings more thankfulness, which further increases your communication and gratefulness, so that your relationship with GOD continues to grow in intimacy.

Thankfulness is the language of love and appreciation.​​ 

1 Chronicles 16:8-11 ​​​​ ‘Give praise to the LORD, proclaim HIS NAME; make known among the nations what HE has done. ​​ Sing to HIM, sing praise to HIM; tell of all HIS wonderful acts. ​​ Glory in HIS holy NAME; let the hearts of those who seek the ORD rejoice. ​​ Look to the LORD and HIS strength; seek HIS face always.

Verse​​ 14 ​​​​ HE is the LORD our GOD; HIS judgements are in all the Earth.

Verse​​ 23-25 ​​​​ Sing to the LORD, all the Earth; proclaim HIS salvation day after day. ​​ Declare HIS glory among the nations, HIS marvellous deeds among all peoples. ​​ For great is the LORD and most worthy of praise; HE is to be feared above all ‘gods.’​​ 

Verse​​ 31-34 ​​​​ ‘Let the heavens rejoice, let the Earth be glad; let them say among the nations, “The LORD reigns!” ​​​​ Let the sea resound, and all that is in it; let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them. ​​ Let the trees and the forest sing, let them sing for joy before the LORD, for HE comes to judge the Earth. ​​ Give thanks to the LORD, for HE is good; HIS love endures forever.

Verse​​ 36 ​​​​ ‘Praise be to the LORD, the GOD of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting. ​​ Then all the people said “Amen” and :Praise the LORD.”

Psalm 7:17 ​​​​ ‘I will give thanks to the LORD because of His righteousness and will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.’

Psalm 8:1-2​​ ‘LORD our LORD, how majestic is YOUR NAME in all the Earth.! ​​ YOU have set YOUR glory above the heavens. ​​ From the lips of children and infants YOU have ordained praise because of YOUR enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger.’

Psalm 9:1-2 & 11 ​​​​ ‘I will praise You, O LORD, with all my heart; I will tell of all Your wonders. ​​ I will be glad and rejoice in You; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High.’  ​​ ​​ ​​ ​​ ​​ ​​ ​​ ​​ ​​ ​​ ​​ ​​ ​​ ​​ ​​ ​​​​ ’Sing praises to the LORD, enthroned in Zion; proclaim among the nations what HE has done.’

Psalm 13:6 ​​​​ ‘I will sing the LORD’s praise, for HE has been good to me.’

Psalm 22:3​​  ​​​​ ‘GOD, YOU are enthroned as the HOLY ONE; YOU are the praise of Israel.’

Psalm 35:27-28 ​​ ‘May those who delight in my vindication, shout for joy and gladness; may they always say, “The LORD be exalted WHO delights in the well-being of HIS servant.”

Psalm 63:1-8 ​​​​ ‘YOU, GOD are my GOD, earnestly I seek YOU; I thirst for YOU, my whole being longs for YOU, in a dry and parched land where there is no water.​​ 

I have seen YOU in the sanctuary and beheld YOUR power and YOUR glory. ​​ Because YOUR love is better than life, my lips will glorify YOU. ​​ I will praise you as long as I live, and in YOUR NAME I will lift up my hands. I will be fully satisfied as with the richest of foods; with singing lips my mouth will praise YOU. ​​ On my bed I will remember YOU; I think of YOU through the watches of the night. Because YOU are my help, I sing in the shadow of YOUR wings. ​​ I cling to YOU; YOUR right hand upholds me.’

Psalm 73:23-25 ​​​​ ‘Yet I am always with YOU; YOU hold me by my right hand. ​​ YOU guide me with YOUR counsel, and afterward YOU will take me into glory. ​​ Whom have I in heaven but YOU.? ​​ And Earth has nothing I desire besides YOU.’

Psalm 95:1-2 ​​​​ ‘Come, let us sing for joy to the LORD; let us shout aloud to the rock of our salvation. ​​ Let us come before HIM with music and song.’

Psalm 100:1-5 ​​ ‘Shout for joy to the LORD all the Earth. ​​ Worship the LORD with gladness; come before HIM with joyful songs. ​​ Know that the LORD is GOD. ​​ It is HE WHO made us, and we are HIS; we are HIS people, the sheep of HIS pasture. ​​ Enter HIS gates with thanksgiving and HIS courts with praise; give thanks to HIM and praise HIS Name.’

Psalm 103:1-6 ​​​​ ‘Praise the LORD, my soul; ​​ all my inmost being, praise HIS holy NAME.​​ 

Praise the LORD, my soul, and forget not all HIS benefits; WHO forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, WHO redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion,​​ WHO satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.​​  ​​​​ The LORD works righteousness and justice for all the oppressed.’

Verse​​ 8 ​​​​ ‘The LORD is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love.’

Psalm 103:20-22 & 104:1 ​​​​ ‘Praise the LORD, you HIS angels, you mighty ones who do HIS bidding, who obey HIS Word.​​ 

Praise the LORD, all HIS heavenly hosts, you HIS servants who do HIS will. Praise the LORD, all HIS works everywhere in HIS dominion. ​​ Praise the LORD, my soul.  ​​​​ Praise the LORD, my soul. ​​ LORD my GOD, YOU are very great; YOU are clothed with splendour and majesty.’

Psalm 105:1-4 ​​​​ ‘Give praise to the LORD, proclaim HIS NAME; make known among the nations what HE has done. ​​ Sing to HIM, sing praise to HIM; tell of all HIS wonderful acts. ​​ Glory in HIS holy NAME; let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice. ​​ Look to the LORD and HIS strength; seek HIS face always.’

Psalm 117:1-2 ​​​​ ‘Praise the LORD, all you nations; extol HIM,​​ all you peoples. ​​ For great is HIS love toward us, and the faithfulness of the LORD endures forever. Praise the LORD.’

Psalm 118:1 & 8-9 ​​​​ ‘Give thanks to the LORD, for HE is good; HIS love endures forever.’​​ 

​​ ‘It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in humans. ​​ It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in princes.’

Psalm 119:171-175 ​​​​ ‘May my lips overflow with praise, for YOU teach me YOUR decrees.

May my tongue sing of YOUR Word, for all YOUR commands are righteous. May YOUR hand be ready to help me, for I have chosen YOUR precepts. I long for YOUR salvation, LORD, and I long for your salvation, LORD, and YOUR law gives me delight. ​​​​ Let me live that I may praise YOU, and may YOUR laws sustain me.’

Psalm 134:1-3 ​​​​ ‘Praise the LORD all you servants of the LORD who minister by night in the house of the LORD. ​​ Lift up your hands in the sanctuary and praise the LORD. ​​ May the LORD, the Maker of heaven and Earth, bless you from Zion.’

Psalm 146:1-2 ​​​​ ‘Praise the LORD, praise the LORD, O ​​ my soul. ​​ I will praise the LORD all my life; I will sing praise to my GOD as long as I live.’

Psalm 147:1&7 ​​​​ ‘Praise the LORD. ​​ How good it is to sing praises to our GOD, how pleasant and fitting to praise HIM.’​​ 

Sing to the LORD with grateful praise, make music to our GOD on the harp.’

Psalm 150:1-6 ​​​​ ‘Praise the LORD.​​ 

Praise GOD in HIS sanctuary; praise HIM in HIS mighty heavens. Praise HIM ​​ for HIS acts of power; praise HIM for HIS surpassing greatness. Praise HIM with the sounding of the trumpet, praise HIM with the harp and lyre, praise HIM with tambourine and dancing, praise HIM with the strings and flute, praise HIM with the clash of cymbals, praise HIM with resounding cymbals.​​ Let everything that has breath praise the LORD.’ ​​ Praise the LORD.’

Psalms 144-150 ​​​​ These seven last Psalms in the book of Psalms, all praise GOD.

Isaiah 25:1 ​​​​ ‘LORD, YOU are my GOD; IP will exalt YOU and praise YOUR NAME, for in perfect faithfulness YOU have done wonderful things, things planned long ago.’

Isaiah 65:24 ​​​​ ‘Before they call I (GOD) will answer; ​​ while they are still speaking I will hear.’

This is how it will be for everyone in the new Heavens and New Earth.

Matthew 21:16 ​​​​ ‘”Do You hear​​ what these children are saying?” They asked Him. ​​ “Yes” ​​ replied Jesus, “Have you never read, From the lips of children and infants You have ordained praise?”

John 11:41- 44 ​​​​ ‘So they took away the stone. ​​ Then Jesus looked up and said, ”Father, I​​ thank​​ YOU that YOU have heard Me. I knew that YOU always hear Me, but I said this for the benefit of the people standing here, that they may believe that YOU sent Me.” ​​ When He had said this, Jesus called in a loud voice,​​ “Lazarus, come out.” ​​ The dead man came out, his hands and feet wrapped with strips of linen, and a cloth around​​ his face. ​​ Jesus said to them,​​ “Take off the grave clothes and let him go.”​​ 

Jesus, the very Son of GOD,​​ thanked His FATHER before raising Lazarus from the dead.

2 Corinthians 9:15 ​​​​ ‘Thanks be to GOD for HIS indescribable gift!’

Ephesians 5:19-21 ​​​​ ‘Speak ​​ to one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. ​​ Sing and ​​ make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to GOD the FATHER for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. ​​ Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.’

Philippians 4:4-7 ​​​​ ‘Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice. ​​ Let your gentleness be evident to all. ​​ The Lord is near. ​​ Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, request your requests to GOD. ​​ And the peace of GOD, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.’

Colossians 4:2 ​​​​ ‘Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.’

1 Thessalonians 5:16-24 ​​ ​​​​ Be joyful always; pray continually;​​ give thanks in all circumstances, for this is GOD’s​​ will for you in Christ Jesus. Do not put out the Spirit’s fire; do not treat prophecies with contempt. ​​ Test everything. ​​ Hold on to the good. ​​ Avoid every kind of evil. ​​ May GOD Himself, the GOD of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul, and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. ​​ The ONE Who calls you is faithful and HE will do it.’

Praying continually means to pray at all times, throughout the day between other things, and to make prayer, including thought prayers, an integral part of your life = the basis of your whole day. ​​ 

Hebrews 13:15 ​​​​ ‘Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer​​ to GOD a sacrifice of praise;​​ the fruit of lips that​​ openly confess His Name.’ ​​ ​​ ​​ ​​​​ 

Even if things go wrong, thank GOD for all the good things in your life; for all the good things to come, thank HIM for HIS answers, thank HIM for things not being worse, thank HIM for WHO HE is. ​​ Thank HIM for what you already have, ​​ (even if it is far less than you need,) ​​ HE will make wholeness show up in your life. ​​ HE will restore what is missing (according to HIS will,) GOD is the GOD of restoration, and if you remain thankful to HIM, restoration can suddenly appear. ​​ By thanking GOD in and for everything, you are not allowing Satan any entry into your life.

If you thank GOD for what you already have, HE will make wholeness show up in your life. ​​ HE will restore whatever is missing in your life.

Thank GOD your heavenly FATHER, that through Jesus, two thousand years ago, HE provided healing, deliverance, provision, wholeness, and soundness. ​​ 

Jesus gave thanks to GOD in seemingly hopeless situations, and by doing so, He gained heaven’s attention.

If you appreciate GOD’s​​ faithfulness, nothing you will be challenged with, will ever defeat you.​​ 

When King David was facing terrible opposition and challenges during his reign, he praised GOD, and never lost a battle. ​​ His thanksgiving to GOD ensured that GOD’s​​ supernatural power was always at work in his favour.

It is impossible to praise and thank GOD too much. ​​ HE inhabits the praises of HIS people; a thankful heart has plenty of room for HIM. ​​ When we thank HIM for the many pleasures HE provides, we are affirming that HE is GOD from WHOM all blessings flow.

Thanking GOD, lifts you up.

Thanking GOD, is telling Satan that he will never win.

Thanking GOD, is putting Satan down.

Thank GOD in every situation - good or bad - GOD knows the reasons for everything that happens.

​​ Romans 8:28 ​​​​ ‘And we know that in all things GOD works for the good of those who love HIM, who have been called according to HIS purpose.’
