Making Jesus Lord of your life

Seek the Truth with all your heart.
In Acts, and the Epistles, there are almost one hundred references to the Christian's redemption, salvation and eternal life in, and through Jesus Christ.
When you have chosen Jesus as Lord of your life, then GOD sees you through Jesus, and if you are walking in obedience to that relationship, GOD therefore sees you as perfect, as Jesus is perfect, and so you qualify for His kingdom. When we are raised from death (sleep) by Jesus at the resurrection on His return, we take on our new eternal, immortal, glorified body for eternal life as a member of GOD’s family in His kingdom. From there on we continue growing forever in amazing knowledge and experience.
To become a Christian and have assurance of eternal life, is a personal decision only you can make.
When you surrender your heart and soul to Christ, a new power enters your heart and takes loving possession of it, bringing wonderful change that you could not accomplish for yourself. This brings a supernatural dimension into your human nature; and you then continue trusting in GOD, staying close to Him, and drawing on the power of the Holy Spirit, praying and continually working to be an overcomer, not allowing evil influences to draw you away and back into a worldly way of life. Give your heart to GOD and Jesus will enter your life. Choose a life of simplicity, and be willing to surrender whatever GOD requires of you.
In making (choosing) Jesus as Lord of our life, all worldly ways have to evaporate. We must be free of every separation; which includes all man-made issues such as women’s liberation, all inequality, generation gaps, separation of nationalities, males and females, and any separation at all. ALL people are equal in GOD’s eyes.
Christ must reign as absolutely supreme in our life. We now belong to Him and GOD our FATHER. We totally surrender our life to GOD’s leading. We become full HIS.
Jeremiah 29:13 ‘And you will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.’
2 Corinthians 5:17 ‘Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, they are a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come.’
Psalm 149:4 ‘For the LORD takes delight in His people; He crowns the humble with salvation.’
Romans 3:22-24 ‘Righteousness from GOD comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of GOD, and are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came by Jesus Christ.’
Jesus said: Mark 16:16 “Whoever believes and is baptised will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.”
John 6:47 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life.”
John 7:37b-38 “If anyone is thirsty, let them come to Me and drink. Whoever believes in Me, as the scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.”
John 11:26 “And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this.?”
Acts 2:38 “Repent and be baptised, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”
Acts 16:31 “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved --- “
Revelation 3:20 “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to THEM and dine with THEM, and he with Me.”
1 John 2:2 Jesus is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.
Mark 1:15 “The kingdom of GOD is near. Repent and believe the gospel.”
Romans 10:9-13 ‘If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that GOD raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. As scripture says, “Anyone who believes in Him will never be put to shame.” For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile – the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on Him, for “Everyone who calls on the Name of the Lord will be saved.”
The Bible’s formula for becoming a true Christian: Repent from sin, believe in Christ and His gospel message; and get baptised, which symbolizes faith in the death, burial and resurrection of Christ.
In order to receive the righteousness of Christ, it is necessary for each sinful person (which we all are) to repent (turn around) in heart and mind; which brings a radical change of mind, spirit and life. Ask GOD to fill you with His Holy Spirit, and when this happens, you become a changed person, with new principles, morals, values, attitude, outlook, and priorities.
To ask Jesus to be Lord of your life, from your heart, you can say all of the following, down to the next red line:
“Heavenly Father GOD, I come to You in the Name of Jesus. I acknowledge that I am a sinner according to: Romans 3:23 ‘For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of GOD. I know that according to: Romans 6:23 ‘the penalty for sin is death, but You give the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.’
Romans 10:9-10 ‘If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that GOD raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.’
Acts 2:21 “Whosoever calls on the Name of the Lord shall be saved”
Please forgive me for being a sinner. I believe Jesus died for me on the cross, paying the ultimate penalty for each of us; and that He rose from the dead on the third day; and that His sacrificial death and shedding of His blood paid the complete debt for my being a sinful human being.
1 Peter 2:24 ‘Jesus bore our inherited sinful condition in His own body on the cross, that we, having died to sins, may live righteously forever.’
Galatians 2:20 ‘I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live but Christ who lives in me; and the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in Jesus, the Son of GOD, who loved me and gave Himself for me.’
1 John 5:10-12 ‘Anyone who believes in the Son of GOD has this testimony in their heart. Anyone who does not believe GOD, has made him out to be a liar, because they have not believed the testimony GOD has given about His Son. And this is the testimony: GOD has given us eternal life, and this life is in HIS Son. The person who has the Son has life; and the person who does not have the Son of GOD does not have life.’
John 6:47 ‘Most assuredly I say to you, whoever believes in Me has everlasting life.’
Your Word says all this, and I believe all this, and ask Jesus to be Lord of my life.
I place my life in Your hands, I invite Jesus into my heart, and give my heart to GOD, and trust in You as my Lord and saviour. Please lead and guide me. By faith I thank You for the gift of eternal life. Amen.” ___________________________________________________________________________
Elijah endured great and severe trials in this lifetime and was taken up to Heaven on a chariot of fire. Someday, like Elijah, we (who are born again and love GOD,) will be in Heaven and will enjoy GOD’s presence forever.
Jesus has opened the door and issued the invitation for you to inherit eternal life, but you have to accept it; and acceptance has conditions, but they are not difficult, and people cannot inherit something without being eligible to do so.
Praying for family members, friends, and others.
Ask that the Holy Spirit, the Helper, enter their hearts, and that other Christians (Saints) also will have a chance to speak to them about Jesus and GOD, and to awaken what is in their hearts, and for them to receive the light of what GOD has done for them.
Acts 2:4 ‘All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.’
John 3:5-6 ‘Jesus said “I tell you the truth, no one can enter the Kingdom of GOD unless they are born of water and the Spirit. 3:15-18 Everyone who believes in Him may have eternal life. For GOD so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For GOD did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of GOD’s one and only Son.’
Romans 8:8 & 9b-11 Those controlled by the sinful nature cannot please GOD. Whoever does not have the Spirit of Christ, does not belong to Christ. But if Christ is in you, your body is ‘dead’ because of sin, yet your spirit is alive because of righteousness. And if the spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life (eternal) to your mortal bodies through His Spirit , who lives in you.
Ephesians 2:4-6 ‘But because of His great love for us, GOD, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions; it is by grace you have been saved. And GOD raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus.’
Hebrews 12:14 “Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord.”
GOD projected Himself as Jesus on earth amongst us, which makes it easy for us to relate to GOD in the person of Jesus.
When, through Jesus Christ, you have really and truly repented of what you are and what you have done, and come to this parting of the way of the old life, turning to complete change, and a total unconditional surrender to GOD, a complete consecration, giving yourself to Him, accepting Christ as your personal Saviour, turning from your sinful nature, and turning to GOD’s way of life, as you will find it in the Bible; you’ll want to throw yourself completely on His mercy, and pray and ask Him to forgive you of your sinful state, and all your past sins and transgressions against Him.
Pray: “Father GOD I accept Your Word and I confess that Jesus is Lord, and I believe in my heart that Jesus died to pay for our sinfulness, and that after three days You raised Him from the dead. Thank You for coming into my heart, for giving me Your Holy Spirit as You promised, and for being Lord over my life. I believe that through a loving and faithful relationship with Jesus I have eternal life. Amen.”
GOD Loves you so much - John 3:16 "GOD so loved the world that HE gave HIS one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life."
The problem is that all of us have done, said or thought things that are wrong. This is called sin, and sin has separated us from God. Humanity inherited this condition of sin from Adam and Eve.
The Bible says “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of GOD.” GOD is perfect and holy, and our sins separate us from GOD forever. The Bible also says “The wages of sin is death.”
The good news is that, about 2,000 years ago GOD sent His only Son Jesus Christ to die for our sins. If this had not happened we would die and never see life again.
Jesus is the Son of GOD. He lived a sinless life and then died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins. “GOD demonstrates His own love for us in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us.”
Jesus rose from the dead and now He lives in heaven with GOD His Father. He offers us the gift of eternal life; of living forever with Him in heaven, if we accept Him as our Lord and Saviour. Jesus said "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."
GOD reaches out in love to you and wants you to be HIS child. "As many as received Jesus and believed in His name; He gave the right to become children of GOD. You can choose to ask Jesus Christ to forgive your sins, and to come into your life as your Lord and Saviour.
If you want to accept Christ as your Saviour and turn from your sins, you can ask Him to be your Lord and Saviour by praying a prayer like this:
"Lord Jesus, I believe you are the Son of GOD. Thank you for dying on the cross for me and rising after three days, and that Your blood paid for my sins. Thank You for forgiving my sins and giving me the gift of eternal life. I turn away from all evil, and I acknowledge You, and invite You into my life and heart, please be my Lord and Saviour, I want to serve You always."
Hebrews 10:26-29 ‘If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, but only a fearful expectation of judgement and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of GOD. Anyone who rejected the law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. How much more severely do you think a person deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of GOD under foot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified them, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace.’
