Jesus is Head of the Church
Jesus is Head of the Church
Seek the Truth with all your heart.
Jesus Christ is Head of the Church.
‘The church’ is not a building; it means ‘the people’ who are GOD’s people – Christians -followers of Christ - disciples - believers.
As is stated in the Westminster Confession of Faith (1647):
‘There is no other head of the church but (except) the Lord Jesus Christ.’ No person at all, on earth, can rightly claim this title. No one can stand in or above the place of Jesus.
Jesus said “Call no one ‘father’ except your FATHER in heaven. Bowing down to any person or idol, is forbidden by GOD. No-one on Earth has authority to over-ride or change GOD’s laws in any way at all.
Matthew 23:8-12 “But you are not to be called ‘Rabbi’ for you have only one Master and you are all brothers (and sisters). And do not call anyone on earth ‘father,’ for you have one FATHER, and HE is in heaven. Nor are you to be called ‘teacher,’ for you have one Teacher, the Christ. The greatest among you will be your servant. For whoever exalts themselves will be humbled, and whoever humbles themselves will be exalted.”
No person, at all, on earth, can rightly claim a religious title of ‘father.’
