Matthew 6:25-34 Jesus said: “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your Heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life.? And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labour or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendour was dressed like one of these. If that is how GOD clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will HE not much more clothe you. O you of little faith. So do not worry, saying, ’What shall we eat?’ Or ‘What shall we drink?’ Or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first HIS (GOD’s) kingdom and HIS righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.’
Luke 12:22-26 Repeats the above in slightly different words, but adds-on in verses: 25-31 ‘Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life.? Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest? Consider how the lilies grow. They do not labour or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendour was dressed like one of those. If that is how GOD clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will HE clothe you, O you of little faith. And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink, do not worry about it. For the pagan world runs after all such things, and your FATHER knows that you need them. But seek HIS kingdom, and all these things will be given to you as well.’
Romans 8:28-32 ‘And we know that all things work together for good to those who love GOD, to those who are the called according to HIS purpose. For whom HE foreknew, HE also predestined to be conformed to the image of HIS Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom HE predestined, these HE called, these HE also justified; and whom HE justified, these HE also glorified.
What then shall we say to these things? If GOD is for us, who can be against us? HE Who did not spare HIS Own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall HE not with Him also freely give us all things?’
Philippians 4:6 ‘Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to GOD.’
Ephesians 3:20-21 ‘Now to HIM who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to HIS power that is at work within us, to HIM be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever. Amen.’
